Osseo Marching Band Festival

I attended the Osseo Band Festival on Saturday and had a wonderful time! Everything was well laid out and organized, there were plenty of concessions, trash containers and toilet facilities. Congratulations on a job well done!

I can't tell you how impressed I was with yesterday's Band Festival! I live in the staging area and so appreciated the generous advance notice you gave us. The printed information was clearly written; we knew exactly what was going to happen. When the Milaca buses pulled up in front of our house at 10 am (right on schedule) the only one who was disturbed was our dog. And he got used to the band in a hurry. Each of the bands seemed to know exactly where to go--I saw no wandering or confusion ANYWHERE! Although I am still a choir geek, I loved the serious nature of the competition and the discipline of the marching groups. You guys must be uber-planners! Every detail was anticipated and covered--the trash boxes, the satellites,
the banners between the bands--I didn't see the judging, but heard the appreciative audience response as I walked north along 5th. How refreshing to have a parade with no political candidates and no one throwing candy! Congratulations on the success of your day!

I just wanted to say what a great job you and your crew of volunteers did with the festival on Saturday! I have been with the Park Center boosters for the past five years, and this was one of the best planned festivals/parades I've been to. Even though our youngest aged out this year, we'll be back as spectators next June!

Congratulations on the start of a great tradition in Osseo! The Marching Band Festival was a huge success for participants, spectators, and the community. Thank you for daring to dream and investing in it! I hosted the Mankato Lancers. Their drivers asked that I particularly thank you on their behalf. They SO appreciated planning with them in mind, too – from parking and directions right down to providing lunch. Have a great rest of the summer, and thanks again! I look forward to volunteering next year.

I had the chance to talk to a lot of people during the band festival today. Everyone agrees that this went great. I've only seen a small piece of this, but I think that the organization and leadership by you, Kevin, and the others has been just fantastic! One of the people I talked to was a band festival organizer from Waconia; he was very impressed as well.

Cj and everyone on the committee, it was most pleasurable for me to help out on Saturday. I am amazed at the committee's hard work, organization, and determination to make the event a success. I hope in your eyes it was a success, also. I would like to help out again next year. I had a great time watching my little girls/walking the parade. Kudos to all you and your dedication! Our Brownie troop had a great time helping with the parade banners. Thanks for letting us help!! I saw your daughter on KARE 11 on Saturday morning and your drumline looked terrific! You all did a fantastic job on your first band festival - you're right - there is SO much to think about but Osseo should be very proud of themselves. Great job and we look forward to seeing you again next year! We were also at the Alex band festival yesterday. What a terrific day! I really enjoy watching all the bands because you know how hard they have worked to get there. For Park Center, it was our final judged parade of the season. Again - Kudos to all the boosters and your band members!!

Congratulations on a spectacular festival. It certainly didn't seem like an inaugural event--it ran smoothly and is destined to become a very popular competition. Sitting in the crowd at Alexandria on Sunday, I know a number of our parents and parents from Mankato and Waconia commented on how great it was. Congratulations to the Osseo Marching Band as well. They had great performances at both events this weekend.

As a volunteer, I wanted to say how easy it was to help out. I was informed about everything I needed to do ahead of time - all the way down to the laminated maps! I received compliments from many people about how well organized the event was. Spectators, band members and staff all seemed delighted to be here!

What a wonderful job you all did with the band festival! Everything was obviously well thought out, from the route to the restroom facilities. Speaking as a spectator and Osseo and Park Center Marching Band Groupie, I had a great time. The kids work so hard for so long, and deserve to have such a superb showcase for their talents and energy. Thanks for giving them the platform they need to strut their stuff.
