2009 Central Ave
Reconstruction Project

This summer, the City of Osseo will be reconstructing Central Avenue all the way down to the water and sewer pipes. The badly needed project will be done in two phases and will not impact the Osseo Band Festival Performance route, but navigating the city will require preplanning.

Phase I will be performed from the north side of 3rd Street at Central Avenue northward to County Road 30 (see map below). The second phase will be on the south end of town in July.

During the Osseo Marching Band Festival, Central Avenue will be detoured to the east on 1st Ave NE (green line in map below). The red line is the construction zone. Access will be available up to Central Avenue on both sides, but crossing the Central Avenue construction area will not be permitted except at and south of 3rd Street NE.

The Osseo Marching Band Festival performance route (orange line) does not use Central Avenue, except to cross at 2nd Street. Therefore, there will be minimal impact to the performers and spectators along the route.

Visitors are encouraged to enter and exit Osseo on streets other than Central Avenue. Please plan accordingly and enter/exit Osseo on County Road 30 or County Road 81 at intersections other than Central Avenue. Also, avoid "crossing" through the city. If parking on the North side, enter from County Road 30. If planning to park on the South side, enter from County Road 81.

Also, remember that the Marching Bands stage on the streets on the east side of town (5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Avenues NE) near the Osseo Elementary School. Visitors will not be allowed through these areas to ensure the safety of the students.

Parking is allowed on most residential streets in Osseo provided your vehicle does not block a fire hydrant or driveway. Osseo is a "walkable" town. Using a casual walking speed it is possible to walk from one end to the other in about 20 minutes.

We look forward to seeing you in Osseo on June 27, 2009 (or anytime)!
